Document Description
The 2020 Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) for the Merced Campus provides an updated land use plan to guide future physical development of the campus. The 2020 LRDP updates the previous LRDP, approved by the Regents in March 2009 which was subsequently amended in 2013, 2016, and 2017. The 2020 LRDP implements a similar mixed-use development approach that was incorporated into the Merced 2020 Project. This will allow the campus to grow in an efficient and orderly manner, facilitate a compact footprint that preserves land resources, and provide land use flexibility. The 2020 LRDP assumptions project growth on campus from 10,000 to 15,000 students over the ten-year planning period, based on the current student population, past growth rates, growth trends, faculty hiring, delivery time needed to build new facilities, and resource, infrastructure, and utility limitations.
