Document Description
CAWD proposes to replace an existing above-ground, 24-in diameter by 330-ft long treated wastewater outfall pipeline and temporary 6-in diameter by 330-ft long HDPE sewage force main. The portion of the pipelines spanning the lagoon area in deteriorated condition and need to be replaced. These pipelines would be replaced with a buried 24-in outfall pipeline and an 8-in sewage force main pipeline. In order to install the new pipes under the lagoon bed, construction would necessitate trenching across the south arm of the Carmel Lagoon. In addition to pipeline replacement, this project also involves the improvement of access roads and creation of temporary staging areas to the north and south of the lagoon.
