Document Description
DFD staff will drain Dyer Reservoir into the South Bay Aqueduct. The sediment will be pumped via an existing buried pipeline to the sediment basin. Sediment will be washed off the Dyer Reservoir liner and towards the sump using faucets already in place around the rim of the reservoir. Once cry, it will be loaded with a backhoe into dump trucks for removal and disposal at nearby facilities. Inspections of the liner will be conducted visually. While the reservoir is empty, the Precise Survey group will perform a survey of the dam and appurtenant structures. The Geodetic Brand will perform a LiDar survey of the concrete liner. This project allows for continued maintenance and safety of the SWP while providing water resources.
