Document Description
The Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) is planning to reduce the current Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) to less than 20 percent of Specific Maximum Yield Strength (SMYS) on existing natural gas transmission pipeline (Line) 119 North and 85 South near Castaic in Los Angeles County. The existing pipeline cannoy be inspected for inetgrity using in-line inspection tools and is therefore non-piggable and subject to SoCalGas' Phase 1B of the Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP) filed with and approved by the California Public Utilities Commission. In order to perform the required work, SoCalGas requests a modification of the existing Main Line Valve (MLV) 85-119.16-0 station near Frazier Park and easement increase from 1,500 square feet to 2,772 square feet along with a temporary construction easement of approximately 14,990 square feet. The temporary construction easement is to accommodate the derating work of natural gas pipelines 119 and 85 within Hungry Valley SVRA. The derating is to allow for the continues operation with a new fence. Access to the site will utilize an existing access road off of Falcon Way. Vegetation in the temporary construction easement will be cleared and the access road will be graded to accommodate safe travel.
