Document Description
the Cannabis Moratorium (Ordinance 17-09)
The Town of Mammoth Lakes Cannabis Regulatory Framework update included the following components: (1) Amendments to the Zoning Code (Municipal Code Title 17) to reflect changes in the allowed uses of cannabis as a result of CA Proposition 64 (the "Adult Use of Marijuana Act") and updated the Zoning Code (Municipal Code Title 17) to be consistent with CA Senate Bill 94 (the "Medical and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act"); (2) Repeal and readoption of Municipal Code Chapter 5.38 to remove all references to "Medical Marijuana Cooperatives" and codified the operating requirements for commercial cannabis businesses and the procedures for obtaining a commercial cannabis permit; and (3) Repeal of the cannabis moratorium (Ordinance 17-09) hereby ending the moratorium on the establishment or expansion of cannabis businesses within the Town. The Town's cannabis regulations, as amended, largely mirror the State cannabis regulations and are intended to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community and minimize the potential nuisance, security, and safety issues associated with cannabis.
