Project would install a memorial marker within the Pioneer Cemetery at Marshall Gold discovery State Historic Park. The memorial marker would be dedicated to Matsunosuke Sakurai (1834 - 1901), a samurai, who came to CA in 1869 and helped establish the Wakamatsu Tea and Silk Colony in the Coloma area along with 22 other Japanese.
