Document Description
This project proposes to remove excess fuels, including non-native invasive trees and shrubs, in a twenty acre area of blue oak and interior live oak woodlands within the Mississippi Bar area of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area to reduce the fuel loads of the oak woodlands. Work will remove and treat with chemicals the non-native invasive olive trees and any other non-native trees and shrubs on site (such as Chinese tallow, privet) and remove dead and downed trees/tree parts, except for the occasional snag and the largest logs. The project will also implement defensible space clearance along the park boundary in this area adjacent to private properties following the Dept.'s 2009 "Guidelines for the Protection of Structures from Wildland Fire".
