Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide funding in the amount of $74,483 to the Sierra Fund to develop a pilot strategy to both manage fuels and remediate mine sites in the Tahoe National Forest. The goal is to conduct necessary planning to implement fields reduction activities and integrated hydraulic mine remediation as part of the larger USFS Trapper Project to increase forest health and resiliency and reduce wildlife risk in the TNF. 1) Identifying fuels reduction and erosion prevention activities 2) integrate those activities into mine remediation 3) NEPA/CEQA compliance 4) define effectiveness evaluation metrics 5) prepare a post-implementation BMP document 6) management of planning activities
