This project entails the installation of a culvert style bat gate at the entrance to an adit associated with previous mining activities. The purpose of this project is to improve public safety by reducing unauthorized human access to this feature, while maintaining wildlife access to the habitat this feature provides.

The culvert will be transported by hand or on a wheeled cart to the portal from an existing nearby two track road. Some hand-tool excavation of fallen soil from the opening may be needed. These activities will be within the original footprint of disturbance associated with the mining activities. Any excavated material shall remain within the adit portal and run-in.
