Document Description
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the existing gravel runway. The runway currently consists of compacted gravel surfacing material. This material breaks down over time and new layer of base material needs to be applied. The maintenance will install a "lift" of approximately 2.5 inches of gravel surfacing material to the existing gravel runway. The material will be watered and compacted by mechanical means.
This project will stay within the existing footprint of the current airport and no new ground disturbance will occur. Fugitive dust particles will be controlled throughout the process by means of watering. The airport is approximately 1.0 miles outside of the town of Fort Bidwell and approximately 1000 feet from the nearest residence.
