Document Description
The proposed project would include water transfers from Butte Water District to the Central Valley. Butte Water District would idle up to 4,902 acres of rice land to make up to 16,177 acre-feet of water and/or would pump groundwater from wells located in Sutter County for up to 5,750 acre-feet of water. Idling transfers could originate in Butte or Sutter counties and groundwater substitution transfers would originate from Sutter County. The transfer buyers could be in Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange, Riverside, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Ventura counties.
