Document Description
The project proposes to improve the segment of SR-74 from 0.8 mile west of the San Juan Hot Springs Canyon to the Orange/Riverside County line, excluding the San Juan Canyon Bridge IPM 13.28-13.33). The purpose of this project is to reduce the number and severity of collisions by applying High Friction Surface Treatment to the existing asphalt concrete roadway surface to address wet pavement-related collisions; constructing a continuous 4-ft shoulder in both directions and bringing existing non-standard lanes to standard 12 ft lanes from PM 11.50 to PM 13.28; providing superelevation improvements and constructing 10 ft shoulders at the San Juan Fire Station; and will add safety lighting at the San Juan Fire Station (PM 12.302-12.50) and drainage improvements to divert sheet flow.
