PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project proposes a Right-of-Way Street Vacation and Community Plan Amendment (CPA) to vacate: all of Dickinson Street, a portion of Front Street from Montecito Way north to Dickenson Street, Arbor Drive from First Avenue west to its termination, and First Avenue north of Arbor Drive. The property is located in the CC-3-8 and OR-1-1 Zones within the Uptown Community Plan Area. An Environmental Impact Report (SCH No. 2018031003) was previously certified for the UC San Diego Hillcrest Campus 2019 Long Range Development Plan (LDRP) which analyzed the redevelopment of approximately 34 acres of the 62-acre existing Hillcrest Campus. The total development reviewed and approved under the 2019 LRDP is up to 1,000 multi-family residential units (979 net new), approximately 40,000 gross square feet (gsf) of wellbeing center facilities, approximately 4,000 gsf of freestanding retail, up to 3,900 parking spaces, and additional amenities encompassing 2.7 million gsf.
