Document Description
The California of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a highway maintenance project to overlay approximately 12.9 miles on state route 140 in Merced County at post miles 37.4 to 50.3. Construction would occur on paved surfaces and improved shoulders within Caltrans right-of-way. The overlay will consist of rubberized hot mix asphalt and slurry seal, as well as cold planning, digging out failed pavement, placement of shoulder backing, and the replacement of metal beam guardrails. The purpose of the project is to repair areas of failed pavement, and the need of the project is to prevent further deterioration of the paved highway surface.
