- The California Department of Transportation (caltrans) proposes to upgrade two bridges along the Interstate 5 corridor to address existing freight mobility constraints. The purpose of this project is to improve freight mobility, upgrade aging structure infrastructure, and remove identified load constraints. The need is to improve the permit ratings for the bridges that currently don't allow for efficient commercial and military freight movement. This project is limited to two locations along Interstate 5 in San Joaquin County: deuel overhead at post mile 10.65 and Mathews Rd Undercrossing at post mile R21.44
