Document Description
Caltrans will replace and upgrade existing pipe culverts with concrete box culverts to increase the capacity of the culvert system and decrease the frequency of road closures on Hwy 178 east of Shoshone CA. The existing pipe culverts have exceeded their design-life and water overtopping events occur twice per year on average. The upgraded system is designed to decrease overtopping events to an average of once every three years.
