Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide the Sierra Business Council with $100,000 to create a master site plan for the Loyalton Biomass Project. This project is designed enable the co-location of value added wood product industries adjacent to an existing cogeneration facility to utilize the wood biomass supply chain and waste heat generation. This site identified in the Sierra County Comprehensive Development Strategy as the most important high oppurtunity site for development in the County. Tis is consistant with the goals of the Governor's Bioenergy Action Plan and will benefit Loyalton, Sierra County, and other communities threatened by wildfire across the biomass source region.
