Document Description
This project will install a split rail fence, two access gates and educational interpretive signage in Zone 1 of Prairie City SVRA. The fence will be constructed along the approximate watershed boundary of a wetland feature. The fence will consist of 12-foot untreated split pine logs arranged in a zigzag pattern, four to five rails high. Most lengths will not require sub-surface fencepost anchoring. The fence line will span approximately 1,200 linear feet. Because this style of inter-looking fence requires semi-gradual, grades, steep sections of terrain, may require earthwork to reduce percent slopes. Approximately 30 cubic yards of material or less may be moved to reduce grades. No fill will occur in wetlands. Wetland boundaries will be clearly marked in the field and Natural resources staff will be onsite to monitor excavation work. Earthwork will be conducted with heavy equipment such as a backhoe. Hand tools will be employed for finishing work.
