Document Description
This project will install six signs in the newly acquired Truckhaven property of Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Law enforcement is charged with enforcing all applicable laws, ensuring the public safety and protecting the resources. Since the acquisition, law enforcement officers have dealt with high levels of intense use and unlawful behavior at the area referred to as the Notches. In order to deter unlawful behavior and ensure the public's enjoyment of and the sustainability of the resources, this area has been closed to camping, alcohol, and campfires per a Superintendent's Posted Order. In order to educate the public and gain voluntary compliance, the placement of signs describing the restrictions and the authority will be constructed at six locations. Each sign will consist of two 18" x 24" signs mounted back to back and mounted on a 3" x 2" U Channel fence post placed in the ground. In order to place the vertical supports, the U channel will be driven 18" in depth either by hand, gas powered, or electric powered jack hammer.
