Document Description
The project consists of exchanging land with adjacent land owner (Arrants) within the Jackson Demonstration State Forest and adjusting the property lines. In 2007, a boundary survey conducted by CAL FIRE Surveyors, determined that Arrants has encroached on 2.01+/- acres of State land, and survey maps and legal descriptions were prepared. This encroachment consists of a relatively flat portion of land that contains outbuildings and has been used for parking and storage of personal property. A small portion of the driveway also straddles the property line onto State land. In order to resolve the encroachment issue and to avoid any potential litigation, Cal Fire will convey 2.02+/- acres to the Arrants consisting of 1.98 acres along the western boundary property line and a small 0.04acre triangular square at the northeast corner of the property. Arrants will transfer 2.01 acres to the state, consisting of 0.67 acres at the northwest corner, 0.46 acres at the northeast corner, and 0.88 acres at the southeast corner of the parcel. All lot lines will be moved accordingly. No other activities would take place on the parcels.
