Document Description
Note: Extended Per Lead
DTSC, as a lead regulatory agency, invites you to review and comment on a proposed RAP and CEQA ND for the 11.66 acre former PureGro Company facility. The site was used to formulate, store, and distribute agricultural chemicals from the 1940s to 2000. Facility operations were discontinued in December 2000 and the buildings were demolished in 2001. The site is now vacant and fenced. In 2006 with DTSC oversight, about 15,000 cy of contaminated soil was excavated and removed from the vacant lot east of the property. These soils were stockpiled within a fenced area on the former PureGro property, covered to prevent dust generation, and monitored until a final remedy to address onsite contamination. If approved, the RAP will allow for an engineered cap with institutional and engineering controls and groundwater monitoring to address soil and groundwater contaminated primarily with pesticides.
