- Document Description
- Project will repair the existing, damaged bridge and associated guardrails. Reinforced concrete and steel will be repaired on the northeast corner of the bridge and road shoulder. Approx. 50 feet of new metal beam guardrail and posts will be installed along the westbound road shoulder. Approx. 50 feet of new metal beam guardrail, steel posts, and anchors will be replaced along the northeast edge of the bridge deck by saw-cutting and chipping out 24 inch wide by 12 inch deep pockets of the damaged bridge deck and curb. Reinforced concrete then will be used to reconstruct damaged portions of the bridge deck and curb. Additionally, the damaged 3 feet of the top portion of wingwall at the northeast corner abutment will be excavated up to 3 feet down behind the wingwall. An approx. 3 foot deep by 8 foot section will be saw-cut and chipped out; the wingwall will be reconstructed, and the excavated space will be backfilled. A staging area approx. 625 feet south of the bridge along the Aqueduct's primary road will be used by the Contractor; the staging area will be about 10,000 sq. ft. Stanislaus County, DWR, and travels on Fink Road will benefit.
