Document Description
The proposed project includes the addition of a filtration system to the City of Imperial's existing water treatment plant site. All project improvements will occur on previously disturbed land and be limited to the boundaries of the existing water treatment plant site. Project improvements will consist of the following: 1) pipe connection to an existing 24-inch pipeline on the project site; 2) construction of an 18-foot concrete slab; 3) installation of four, steel tanks to hold filter media; 4) new paved asphalt for truck turnout; 5) miscellaneous piping and electrical connections. The project improvements will not change the water treatment plant's capacity. The purpose of the proposed project is to comply with Environmental Protection Agency's Disinfection Byproducts Rules. Implementation of the proposed project will improve drinking water quality and strengthen public health protection.
