Document Description
Removal of approx 400 acres of salt cedar, a non native invasive species that is present in riparian areas of the wildlife area. The trees will be removed physically using chainsaws and then the cut stumps will be treated with a dilute herbicide mixture. The removal of these non-native trees will benefit native wildlife species and their habitats.

The project will selectively remove only salt cedar trees. Low-disturbance, hand-held equipment will be used. Project activities will occur in a manner or in a time frame that will pose insignificant disturbance impacts to sensitive wildlife species. The herbicides that will be used in the project will pose insignificant toxicity risks to wildlife.
