Document Description
The Castaic Dam spillway repair will replace contraction joint sealant by removing, cleaning, and applying new joint sealant and backer rods. Aluminum flashing will be installed at specific locations to prevent intrusion of joint sealant under the invert concrete slab. The stream release repair includes replacement of contraction joint sealant by removing, cleaning, and applying new joint sealant and backer rods. A section of wall that has spalled will be demolished and re-built in- kind. Waste and runoff from construction will be prevented from entering the bottom of her spillway or the waterways below.
