Document Description
The city is proposing to construct a public safety facility consisting of a new primary two-story approx. 44,352 sf Police Service HQ building with a new secondary one-story approx. 24,878 sf support building, and a future one-story approx. 5,000 sf support building all on a 277,486 sf site. Primary access to the site will from Murphy St with secondary access from Work St. The project proposes 268 off street spaces on-site. The project includes a lease agreement between the city and a non-profit organization (Salinas Public Safety Facility Incorporated). The proposed Lease Agreement would be between the City of Salinas and the Salinas Public Safety Facility Incorporated. The Salinas Public Safety Facility Incorporated will enter into a development agreement with Griffin/Swinerton, the builder/contractor, and LPA Incorporated, the project architect, to construct the proposed Salinas Police Service Headquarters. It is anticipated that the Lease Agreement would be completed in February of 2018. The proposed public safety facility use will be subsequently processed through the administrative Site Plan Review (SPR) process (Site Plan Review 2017-013).
