The Palomar Mountain Doane Valley 100,000 gallon below ground reservoir with above ground roof has soil excess migrating to the northeast corner of the structure. California department of Water Boards Drinking Water Division stated in an inspection to have the excess soil removed to avoid structural compromise near the wood frame support. The excess soils were from the initial excavation over 70 years ago from the spoils during the reservoir construction. The amount of soil removal is approximately 2.3 cubic yards. This material will be placed within the park across from Doane Valley Campground site #2 where there is erosion drop off from the asphalt roadway. This additional soil will help restore road edge integrity.
