Document Description
DTSC, pursuant to authority granted under section 66270.61, has issued an emergency permit to Sandia National Lab, to treat hazardous waste by water dilution. The hazardous waste items are expired and are currently being stored at Sandia National Lab located at 7011 East Ave, Livermore, CA 94550. DTSC has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or severe injury, an Sandia is currently contracted with CHES. The treatment of the hazardous waste involves the dilution with water to lower the perchloric acid concentration to 1-2% before they meet the offsite TSDF waste acceptance criteria. The beginning November 27, 2017 and shall expire on December 26, 2017.
