Document Description
The State Water resources Control Board (State Water Board), as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The City of Chino proposed project is for one treatment system that includes four skid-mounted pre-filters and two Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Treatment Vessels and piping to an existing treatment facility. The pre-filter unit is 10 ft x 15 ft and installed above ground with no permanent foundation. Vessels will be installed on a 17 ft x 38 ft concrete pad. New 8 inch distribution piping will be installed for GAC treatment system influent (raw-untreated), effluent (treated), and backwash supply 9approx. 230 ft totals). The GAC Treatment System will utilize GAC material that will need to be removed from the vessels every 1-3 years (varied based on water quality) and transported (non-hazardous) to an off-site locations to be reactivated for reuse. The Project proposes a shallow excavation to install concrete pad for the GAC Treatment Systems. No permanent grading is proposed outside project and any areas disturbed during construction will be restored to its original condition. Total disturbed area is estimated to be approximately <1,000 square feet.
