Complete accessibility improvements to eleven campsites, one Group camp, the Campfire Center and the Day Use Picnic area at New Brighton State Beach to provide accessible camping sites to park visitors of all abilities. 7 Campsites, 2 rv hookup sites and 2 premium campsites are proposed for accessibility upgrades with 7 additional sites serving as alternate upgrade locations.

The project consists of the minor alteration of existing public facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond existing, included as modifications of existing facilities for disabled access in the Park and Rec list of exempt activities in accordance with 15300.4; the replacement of reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new facilities will be located on the same site and the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; and the minor public alteration in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which does not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry or agricultural purposes.
