Document Description
This project is to replace two fire rings that were removed from two campsites during last year's Tierra Del Sol special event preparation. At each location a backhoe will be used to excavate a hole measuring 4' x 4' x 3' in depth. After which shovels and other hand tools will be used to "clean" the loose dirt out of the holes. The backhoe will be used to safely lower each fire ring into place, and staff will make sure that is is level. The excavated dirt, pending cultural specialist approval, will be placed around the fire rings and gently tamped into place with the backhoe. A gas powered compactor will be used to harden the soils around fire ring. Rakes and other hand tools may be used to smooth the campsites area to get rid of the heavy equipment marks after the fire ring is set.
