Document Description
The project is for the repair of an existing levee and levee roadway on the Paradise Cut levee. Critical repair of the levee erosion site involves reestablishing the full width and section of the Paradise Cut levee in this area, at its base and at the crown. All work would be done on the land side of the levee. Levee road repair involves re-grading and rehabilitating the levee crown and outer slope to the toe of the levee to meet original design specifications constructed by USACE. There would be no increase in the levee footprint. Soil for the project will be taken from the designated Borrow/Spoils site, adjacent to Tom Paine Slough east of El Rancho Rd. This site is controlled and used by the District to provide ongoing maintenance of Tom Paine Slough east of El Rancho Road.
