Document Description
The project would replace the existing bridge on Nevada St over Deer Creek. The proposed project site includes bridge approaches, and approx 300 lf of Nevada St, and portions of adjacent privately owned and publicly owned parcels. The existing bridge is approx 34-ft wide, 61-ft long, two-span steel girder bridge constructed in 1938. The bridge was evaluated by Caltrans as functionally obsolete. The project would reconstruct the bridge using natural rock walls and aesthetic railings to closely match the original 1860s bridge but with structural elements that meet current bridge standards. The proposed bridge will be approx. 44-ft wide, 68-ft span with 30 skew angle. It will either be a 1 or 2 span bridge depending upon the results of the hydraulic modeling. Street improvements will be necessary.
