Document Description
The U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration invites you to review and comment on the draft EA for the proposed action to increase the weight of explosives for outdoor tests (detonations) at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab Experimental Test Site. Site 300, a restricted access facility, has been in operation since 1955. Currently, research and development activities at Site 300 Building 851 involve detonation of explosives up to 100 lbs per day and 1,000 lbs per year. Under the proposed action, weights of explosives detonated would be up to 1,000 lbs per day and 7,500 lbs per year. The proposed action would not involve detonation of radioactive materials.
