Document Description
Caltrans proposes the SR 73 Safety Improvement project which intends to modify the existing lane configuration on the SB SR-73 off ramp to MacArthur Blvd by widening it from one lane to two lanes in the city of Newport Beach. The proposed widening will allow for two through lanes from the off ramp onto southbound MacArthur Blvd, which is expected to reduce collisions. Work activities include modifications of existing lane configuration of the off-ramp, widening Bonita Creek Bridge No. 55-0773 and upgrade existing bridge rail, construction of a retaining wall, installation of an overhead traffic signal, modification of lighting, ramp metering, and existing overhead panel, pavement delineation, removal of existing drainage and construction of new inlets, erosion control.
