Document Description
Complete improvements on the existing Buttermilk Bend Trail at South Yuba River State Park to bring the trail into compliance with State Parks accessibility guidelines and associated legal mandates. Work will: reconstruct 300 lf of new trail and approx. 197 lf of double sided rock causeway at beginning of trail to bring running slopes into compliance; remove and replace approx 205. lf of redwood split rail fence; remove and obliterate approx. 80 ft of existing trail; excavate a 12 in diameter by 30 in deep hole to install one 4"x4" redwood post trail sign; install three ADA accessible benches along the trail and replace one non-accessible bench with an ADA accessible bench; replace 2 wooden crib walls with rock crib walls; complete minor repairs on 4 puncheon bridges; construct a level landing at east end of bridge #3 and reinforce back slope with rock wall; reconstruct select failed non-historic rock retaining walls; and refinish native soil surface tread, remove outside berm and sloughed material at slope toe, fill in entrenchments, cover protruding objects in surface and brush vegetation back.
