- Document Description
- This project will reroute the existing Boucher Trail from the gate at the beginning of the Boucher Lookout Road to the Day Use Area near the Boucher Lookout. This would improve the visitor experience, while providing a more sustainable trail requiring less regular maintenance. The existing trail is aligned on the top of a ridge with unsustainable grades. Sections are deeply eroded. The proposed layout would move the trail off the ridgeline and maintain sustainable grades. Approx 40 steps will be constructed on the section near the gate. This is a hiking only trail. Grades on the proposed alignment vary from 4% to 10%. Soil removed during construction will be used to decommission the existing trail. Standard project measures shall be incorporated into the project to avoid and minimize impact to park resources.
