Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Section 66270.61, has issued an Emergency Permit to Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (EPA ID: CAR000180687) to treat hazardous waste by chemical stabilization. The hazardous waste to be treated consists of the following items:
Tert Butyl Methyl Ether 2 containers Hazardous Designation: Peroxide Former, container quantity 2 and size 1 liter.
These hazardous waste items are expired. These items are currently being stored in the Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics waste storage area located at 725 Potter Street in Berkeley, California. DTSC has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or servere injury, an Emergency Permit should be issued to chemically stabilize the hazardous waste prior to transportation off site by Clean Harbors Environmental Services (CHES).
