Document Description
In late September 2017, a wildfire started on the eastern hillside of the Cal Poly campus near the Cal Poly "P." The fire forced the evacuation of residents from the Sierra Madre and Yosemite residence halls. Measures to mitigate the spread of future wildfire will include the following: 1. Immediate action: removal of 43 damaged trees on the southeastern property line. 2. Repair of agricultural fencing. 3. Implementation of erosion control best management practices. 4. Construction of firebreaks on the southeastern slope using best management practices mitigation measures. 5. Maintenance of best management practices.
