Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLA-14854-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC). The 0.973-acre irrigation pond located in the eastern portion of the property will be modified to create recreational opportunities and to provide educational/traditional gathering opportunities for the UAIC. Specific activities to modify the pond include removing existing trees (those that would interfere with construction work and access), draining water from the pond, grading and placing lining over the bed of the pond, recontouring the pond margin along the west bank to create a native planting area for native emergent wetland and seasonal wetland plants (underlined by a concrete shelf for safety), installing a new pier at the southeast end of the pond for educational and recreational uses, construction of a boat ramp, replacing the existing intake for the irrigation system, installing an aeration system to improve water quality, and installing native trees in the vicinity of the pond.
