The project consists of safety improvements to the intersection of Hwy 1/S. Main St/Higgins Canyon Rd. The project includes signalization; replacing a northbound high-speed exit with a dedicated right-turn lane; extending the southbound left-turn lane; constructing a new class I bicycle/pedestrian path along S. Main St to connect with the existing Naomi Patridge Trail; and providing a northbound gateway monument. The project requires approval of a coastal development permit.
