Water System Improvement Project (Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2018-0030-R2)

CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2018-0030-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Konocti County Water District. Project is limited to the replacement and extension of Konocti County Water District's (KCWD) raw water intake pipe and the replacement raw water pump station. The project includes the replacement of the existing six- and eight-inch intake pipes with 1,600 feet of 17-inch High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe that will be constructed using horizontal directional drilling techniques. The project also includes the construction of a new 10-foot diameter by 30-foot deep wet well below a 20-foot by 44-foot pump station pad located approx. 20 feet east of the existing raw water pump station. Approx. ten temporary pilings will be installed during construction of the wet well. These pilings will be removed upon completion of construction. The intake pipe will be directly connected to the wet well at a depth below the intake screen, which will eliminate the need to rely on a syphon-based intake system. The intake screen will be floated into place via a barge and secured with four pilings. The intake screen is designed to meet an approach velocity of less than 0.33 feet per second. This project includes the removal of one 36-inch oak tree.
