Document Description
Project includes replacement of a water tank (Tank 1) on Quail Hill with a larger tank; improvements to the Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) station on McCloud Avenue; replacement of approx. 7,500 feet f water mains within the Roseburg water system; and installation of approx. 1,000 feet of 12-inch water main in a segment of McCloud Avenue. Tank 1, constructed in 1927, has far exceeded its useful life and requires replacement in order to mitigate public health risk. The City also has a storage deficit, ad a larger tank is needed to meet current Waterworks Standards and provide maximum fire storage. Improvements to the PRV Station would give the City the ability to shut the supply line off remotely through their SCADA system. Periodically shutting off the supply line will force the Quail Hill Tanks to act as the sole supply to the City, which will cause water levels to drop and promote tank turnover to maintain water quality. Water main improvements are needed to resolve chronic low water pressure and provide adequate fire flows.
