Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2020-0061-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, County of Sierra. The project is limited to the replacement of the existing Salmon Creek bridge with a newly designed bridge immediately south of the current bridge location. Construction will include installation of a new 67-foot long by 22-foot wide single span bridge with new abutments on each side of the bridge span, rock slope protection in front of the new abutments, re-aligning the road approaches and removal of the old bridge. Existing water flows will be diverted around the project site to allow for work to occur in dry conditions. The project will permanently impact approximately 0.208 acre and temporarily impact approximately 0.397 acre of lodgepole pine forest for the installation of the new bridge structure. Additionally, the project will have 0.054 acre of temporary impacts to Church Creek and 0.016 acre of temporary impacts to associated wetlands to allow for water diversion, construction access, grading, road recontouring and removal of the old bridge. Construction is anticipated to be completed within one season.
