Document Description
Remove five (5) dead or dying cottonwood trees and one (1) leaning sycamore tree in the Riverfront and 1849 Scene in Old Sacramento State Historic Park for health and safety reasons. The trees proposed for removal were identified by the California State Parks Forester II. A contractor will use a chainsaw to remove the canopy branches, cut the trunks to ground level, and use a stump grinder to remove stump to below grade. Most of the wood will be chipped and the wood and wood chips will be placed in a 40-yard container and hauled to a landfill.
