- Document Description
- Eastern Municipal Water District owns and operates the Goetz Road Lift Station (LS), located at Goetz Road and Vista Way in the City of Menifee, Riverside County, California. The LS was built as an interim sewage lift station to serve the Canyon Heights housing development in Quail Valley, subarea 7 during 2005. Additionally, a 6-inch diameter force main at Goetz Road transfers the sewage collected at the Lift Station as part of its Quail Valley Subarea 9, Phase I Sewer project and will divert flows from Canyon heights to the new sewer. Upon completion, the Goetz Road LS and 6-inch force main will no longer be needed. Major facilities at the LS include a wet well, pumps, odor control chemical tank, motor control center, standby generator and radio communication system. The proposed Goetz Road Lift Station Abandonment Project would identify a list of items to be salvaged, discarded and/or abandoned in place. The sewer pipe and force main will be abandoned by filling the pipes with control density fill (CDF). Concrete structures, including the wet well will be removed to 5-feet below grade with the remaining structures filled with CDF. Additionally, Southern California Edison (SCE) will remove an existing transformer and service pole after the power service is disconnected.
