St. Mary's Road Slide Repair Project
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Project is to repair a landslide that occurred during major winter storms of January 9, 2017. Slide resulted in the loss of roadway shoulder, and a nearly vertical drop-off extending from the remaining roadway to the bed of Las Trampas Creek. St. Mary's Road is heavily used and would pose a risk to public safety if not repaired.

Reasons for Exemption
Project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15269(a) as an emergency repair of property damaged because of a disaster in a disaster stricken area in which an emergency has been declared by the governor of the State. Governor Brown issues two emergency proclamations for the State of California on January 23, 2017, with affected areas including Contra Costa County.
