Ailanthus Removal in South Shore Area
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Project will remove 3 acres of tree-of-heaven on the South Shore of Millerton Lake State Recreation Area to reduce hazardous fire conditions for public safety purposes. Work will: use chainsaws to fell trees; use a spray bottle to spray Garlon 4 ultra on cut stumps; relocate cut vegetation to established burn pile area; burn material during allowable (CAL FIRE and air pollution control district) burn days; and apply habitat, roundup, and hasten-EA on Spring foliage.
Project consists of minor public alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation, which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry or ag purposes included as resource management projects in the Park and Rec's list of exempt activities, in accordance with 15300.4.
