- Metropolitan will enter into multiple agreement to augment Metro Colorado River supply by funding water conservation projects in Mexico. Metro share of funding would be up to $7.5 million for up to 54,550 AF of water. Pursuant to the agreements, Mexico would defer delivery of conserved Colorado River water and that water would be converted and stored in Lake Mead for future delivery to Metro. Metro will also continue to participate in a pilot program that provides compensation for voluntary reductions in water use for the benefit of the Colorado River system. Metro share of the funding for this program would be up to an additional $2 million over an anticipated two-year period of 2017 and 2018.

- The proposed actions of funding, authorizing, and entering into agreements related into agreements related to international cooperative measures in the Colorado River Basin are statutorily exempt from CEQA under public resources code 21080(b)(14) and section 15277 of the state CEQA guidelines, and is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to section 15301 of guidelines. Additionally, the proposed action to continue participating in the pilot program is not defined as a project under public resources code section 21065 and sections 15378(b)(2) and 15378(b)(4) of guidelines.
