- Document Description
- The San Mateo County RCD, working alongside the Loma Mar Mutual Water Company, SMC, and San Mateo County Parks are replacing a failing 40,000 gallon water storage tank to improve water security for the community of Loma Mar. This project would install four 4,995 gallon water tanks to provide the community of Loma Mar with ample drinking water storage and minimize the need to flush their tank systems during the summer months when instream flows are at their lowest. By replacing the existing water storage system project partners would 1) reduce summer diversions needed from flushing the tank systems, limiting impacts on Pescadero Creek for the benefit of native steelhead trout and coho salmon; and 2) improve water security for the community of Lom Mar. Project designs have been provided by Waterways Consulting, and construction is funded by the Integrated Regional Water Management Plan grant from the DWR.
